Family Ties Mediation
Conflict Resolution and Relationship Planning for LGBT Families
Going through a break-up, trying to come up with a custody arrangement or coping with a stressful family dispute is challenging enough. Having to address those situations in Family Court, small claims court or similar venue -- in a lesbian, gay or transgender family context -- is virtually impossible.
Unfortunately, the law, the courts and others often do not recognize or know how to deal with LGBT family concerns. And, for many families, the traditional, legal approach is not necessarily the approach that works the best or is the most desirable. Family Ties Mediation is a community-based alternative dispute resolution program designed specifically for LGBT couples and families.
